Founded in 1968, the Church began its journey in Perth with modest origins, holding morning services at venues including Beaufort Street, Tranby Hall on Murray Street, Cloverdale, and Carlisle.

Over time, these humble beginnings gave rise to a resilient and thriving church community. Eventually, the congregation transitioned to Sister Kate’s Chapel in Queens Park, where, in 1980, formal permission was granted for the Aboriginal Christian Church to utilize the chapel for its services.

Sunday morning and evening services were conducted weekly, attracting a diverse and vibrant congregation that included children, youth, women, men, and senior elders. The youth ministry was held every Friday afternoon, while children’s ministry took place during Sunday School sessions conducted in the kitchen at Sister Kate’s Chapel. Regular fellowship lunches were also hosted in the same space, fostering unity and community among members.

The women’s ministry commenced weekly on Monday evenings, alongside midweek prayer meetings that were held every Wednesday night. The men’s ministry convened monthly and was complemented by additional outreach efforts, including prison ministry, funeral services, and radio ministry.

The church expanded its outreach through conventions, which began with a large marquee on the lawns of Sister Kate’s Chapel. Women’s rallies were well-attended, and outreach efforts extended to neighboring towns, furthering the Church’s mission.

Today, the Central Area Aboriginal Christian Church operates from its current location at 56 Skeet Road, Harrisdale, Perth 6112. Services are held at the Aboriginal Christian Church Teaching Centre, which continues to serve as a hub for spiritual growth and community engagement. Since its establishment in 1968, the Church has steadfastly adhered to its mission of teaching the Gospel to all people. It remains a strong and unwavering presence, dedicated to its faith and purpose to this day.
